Fund Raising Fund-Raising is a necessary part of participating in the Capital Classics organization. There are two types of fund raisers - those that benefit the General Fund, and those that put funds directly into the skater's individual fund. General Funds are used to pay for General Expenses and the bus for Nationals. Individual Skater's accounts are used to pay for expenses that are specific to that skater - costume, make-up, ice time, competition fees, coach's fees, and sundry items ordered during the year. The main General Fund fund-raisers are the Golf Tournament, Car Washes and Bar-B-Q. Participation and support of both skaters and parents is necessary to make these events successful. Participation in the fund-raisers that benefit the individual skater's accounts is completely optional. Obviously, the more the skater is able to earn through fund-raising, the less that comes out of mom & dad's pockets.Car Wash Typically, two Car Washes are held each summer in the K-Mart parking lot on Missouri Blvd., from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Girls are expected to sign up to work at least one shift on one of these days. Shifts are from 10 a.m. - noon or noon-2 p.m. Sign-up sheets will be sent around at the parents meeting before the first car wash.Bar-B-Q September 26, 2009 Our Fire and Ice Bar-b-que has always been a successful fundraiser for the organization. In addition it is a great opportunity to get to know some of the other parents. Each girl is expected to sell 10 meal tickets prior to the event. In addition we also try to pre-sell dinners to area businesses. Please sign up to help make this year's Bar-b-que a huge success.Meal Ticket amounts are due at the next parent meeting on September 13, 2009 or you may opt for them to be charged to your account. Golf Tournament Our next Golf Tournament will be held in June 2010. It is always a great success and lots of fun! It's never too early to organize a team or solicit prizes!Banners Banner sales are an excellent fundraiser that benefits the General Fund and the Individual Skater's fund. Each team has a banner with the team name and logo on it. The bottom two-thirds of the banners provide space for area businesses'/sponsors' names. These banners are displayed at the rink throughout the year. Sponsor fees are $200.00 to sponsor one team and $300 to sponsor both teams.Candles We usually sell candles from Bonnets Mill Candle Company as an individual fundraiser. Candles are delivered in time for the holidays!NEW This Year!!! Chili's has offered to be our Corporate Sponsor! Additional details will be available at the September 13th parent meeting!
